Regret is most famously known for being the first filly to win the Kentucky Derby!! Only 3 fillies in the 132 runnings of the Derby have accomplished this feat! The others were Genuine Risk in 1980 and Winning Colors in 1988.
Regret was born in 1912, and won the 1915 edition of the Kentucky Derby. She raced 11 times, and won 9 of those races and finished 2nd in one. The one race she did not place in was the 1915 Saratoga Handicap, and it should be noted that she was NEVER beaten by another female horse.
