Horse racing is a fast-paced sport and it's a thoroughly exciting experience for riders and spectators alike. It's even more exciting if you decide to have a little flutter on a particular race and are hopeful of making a little money as well. Faugheen Expected to Return in Irish Champion Hurdle
Former Champion Hurdle winner Faugheen is expected to return to the racecourse later this month in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown for the Irish Champion Trainer Willie Mullins.
As reported on the bet365 news site, Faugheen has been entered in the Champion Hurdle by his connections, suggesting their horse has recovered well from the leg injury which has kept him out of action for 12 months.

Horseracing Tips for 2017
With 2016 abruptly coming to an end, we can start the countdown to the 2017 horseracing calendar. It's just four months until Cheltenham and it always pays to be prepared, so we thought we'd get some tips in early.
The Horse Racing tipsters favourite to take the Gold Cup is of course Thistlecrack. The Bay Gelding is an incredible raw talent and has the ability to go to the very top over fences. With an impressive win percentage of 71.59%, it's no surprise the eight-year-old is as low as 7/2 to win the Gold Cup.

Former Gold Cup Winner Coneygree Set for Haydock Return
2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Coneygree is set for a return to action this weekend at Haydock in the Grade One Betfair Chase, 377 days since his last racecourse appearance.
Mark Bradstock's chaser picked up a back injury in the build-up to the 2015 King George VI Chase. It ruled him out of the rest of the 2015/16 campaign which meant he was unable to defend his Cheltenham Gold Cup crown at the Festival in the race won by Don Cossack.

Thistlecrack On Course for Gold Cup After Chepstow Win
Thistlecrack was able to make a winning start to his chase career earlier this week with a win at Chepstow to remain on course for a tilt at the Cheltenham Gold Cup later this season. The World Hurdle winner from the 2016 Cheltenham Festival scored by four lengths in the novices' chase in a smooth round of jumping.
"Cheltenham racecourse" (CC BY-SA 2.0) by Carine06Connections said after the race that they were keen for their eight-year-old to return to action once again over the next six weeks in which his assignment will get much tougher. He could now run at Cheltenham in the Open Meeting next month, while the Hennessey card at Newbury is also a possibility for the exciting novice chaser.

Rivet makes claims for 2017 Classics
Rivet has made his claims for the 2000 Guineas and Derby in 2017 following an impressive victory in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster where he beat Aidan O'Brien's favourite Yucatan by just under two lengths.
William Haggas' two-year old went into the final Group One of the flat season in the UK with a 50% strike-rate as he had won two of his four career starts in his opening campaign of his career. The colt finished a respectable second on his debut at Ascot where Ryan Moore partnered him over 6f. Richard Hannon's Eqtiraan was the only horse who could get the better of him on Good to Firm ground but connections were pleased with the start he made.

The Breeders' Cup this year will be held in California and Santa Anita Park. In the Breeders' Cup Classic, the competitors will be in the race for the share of $6 million, which is $1 million more than it was last year. If competitors want a shot at taking a good chunk of this money, then they will first need to get past the top dirt handicap horse, California Chrome.
California Chrome was good at just 2 years old, at 3 years old he was great and at 4 years old it looked like he was going to have an amazing season, but due to injury, he was derailed. Now California Chrome is 5 years old and he is amazing on the field. California Chrome, who is the son of Lucky Pulpit has had victories in the G2 San Pasqual, the Group 1, a handicap at Meydan, the G2 San Diego Handicap, $10 million Dubai World Cup and the Win and You're in Grade 1 Pacific Classic. California Chrome is set to be the one to beat in the World Championships' premier race as he is performing better than ever.
