- Pacific Classic (Gr. 1) on August 10, 1996, Cigar went postward looking for his record breaking 17th straight victory in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar. Cigar led through most of the race, but within seconds of the finish line, he was passed by Dare and Go. His streak-was over.
